Positive results at Yorkshire Open 2015

AthletesThe Taekwondo Dragon Club (TDC) had participated in the 4th Yorkshire Open that was held on Sunday 11th October at Richmond Dunn Sports Center in Bradford. For this competition there were around 350 athletes mainly from England, Ireland and Scotland.

The TDC’s contingent was comprised of 5 female athletes whose age differs between 10 and 27 years of age who all participated in their respective category based on age and rank. Jody Bruno managed to grab gold after defeating both her opponents by walkover and technical knock out, respectively. Kylie Magro won silver after losing her final bout. She managed to win her previous bout in the last round by technical knockout. Also, both Debbie Osmond and Julie Ann Camilleri won silver in their respective categories. Unfortunately, Shania Magro lost her first bout whereas Lynsey Fenech had to miss her participation due to an injury sustained a week before.

The Malta Taekwondo Federation, which TDC is affiliated to, had as well participated in this event with its National athletes with whom amongst them was Mauro Busuttil who also trains with TDC and won bronze.
